The Watcher

'I am the Watcher in the darkness. I am the ringing in the silence. I am the shadow slipping past the corner of your eye. There but for a moment, now gone.
I am the single note carried upon the song of the wind. I am the low rustle of the leaves in the trees. I am the smell of the mud pooling upon the ground. I am the sound of your softly falling footsteps.
I am what you look for as you steal a glance behind you, although you do not know it. I am the noise you thought you heard as you were trying to be silent. I am the presence you feel beside you when you think you are all alone.'

'I see everything. You can keep no secrets from me. For I am the darkness. I am the silence. I am the whisper as it leaves your lips. I am the sound as it reaches your ears. You choose to ignore me, but you know I am there, I am always there, you simply don’t want to see me. But I see you, I am always watching you.'

Azimuth

- The arc along the horizon from the North or South Meridian through any given point.

See also, Azure, a beautiful word to describe the blue of the sky, especially a clear sky.

'Kat sighed in contentment as her eyes followed the azimuth, drinking in the beauty of the crystal clear azure sky stretching across the landscape laid out before her like a perfectly painted masterpiece.'

Challenge;

Comment a short piece of prose, flash fiction, or even just a sentence, using this word. It would be great to see what you come up with!

Please help me raise money to help deprived children in Romania

Please help me raise money to work with deprived Roma children in Romania as part of a project run by Leeds Beckett University.

Although Romania is part of the EU, in many of it’s more rural areas people live in utmost poverty, their homes are mud huts and they have no access to running water or many other resources that we take for granted in this country.

On the 7th of June 2016, I, and a small team of other volunteers from Leeds Beckett University will be travelling out to a village near Tirgu Mures, where we will be taking part in community work within the village. During our time there we will also be running a playwork summer camp for the children where we will engage them in creative, fun and educational activities. We will be taking a wide range of resources with us for the children, things that it is usually very difficult if not nearly impossible for them to access. As well as clothes and shoes we will supply them with sanitary products such as toothbrushes and shampoo, musical instruments and crafty materials.

I need to raise as much money as I can in order to go out there and make an effective difference, bringing as many resources as I can with me to enhance these children's lives.I have a fundraising target of £850 for this project. Please can you help me raise funds to make a difference to these children’s lives.

Please visit my crowdfunding page to make a donation that will help me make a difference.

Many Thanks

Shadows

And there upon her grave he stood,
Bequeathed in Shadows,
A woven hood,
Sweet verses slipped from between his lips,
And melancholy sighs.

Her hands he felt upon his sorry brow,
And hanging in the air her smell,
The toxic stench of roses sweet and in the background music,
Soft lyrics falling small and insubstantial,
Rolling like pearls past his unholy ears.

In vain he turned his troubled eyes,
To gaze upon her long lost image,
But in the darkness there was no lady of his desire,
'Stead all was still,
The monochrome night emptied of her gentle breath.

No more could he hear,
Though he listened so intently,
His lovers words fading into oily shadows,
Innocence lost in shades of black and white,
A single lily faded in it's beauty.

The sweet dark green grass before him,
Stretched away towards the mountains shadow,
He stood alone in the bare and empty landscape,
The world itself was grieving,
For it too had loved and lost.

Heavy lids slid down to cover dark and troubled eyes,
And as he stood all at once could he see,
Why his silent soul wept so fiercely,
A single tear slipped gracefully along the curve of his immortal face,
A perfect repose of harmony in grief.

Slowly he let fall his silver sword and golden shield,
Protection crashing to the muddy earth beneath,
And as in a dream he moved,
With silent purpose slow and sad,
And lay beside his lover on the sweet dark green grass.

Changes!

As you can probably tell I've been having a bit of a play around with the colour-schemes and general look of this blog today. I figure that nothing's ever perfect, everything can always be improved upon and sometimes that means changing it completely. I loved the way the blog looked before this but I feel that it is time to mix things up a bit and get it looking a bit more fresh. (Especially after it's recent bout of neglect due to my unfortunate illness!)

So here it is, new and improved look!
But that's not all that's going to be new, I've gone back to the drawing board and am currently thinking up lots of new and exciting content ideas that I'm hoping you'll find very interesting.

So watch this space cause I've got plans!

p.s. I'd love some feedback on what you think about the new layout, do you like it? do you dislike it? what don't you like about it? what would you change about it?
... and any content ideas you have would be ace too!

Thanks ;)

Apologies for the absolutely rubbish lack of posts this week, I've been struck with a truly vile 'coldy-fluey' thing and have been completely wiped out... *sypmpathy*
But, getting back on my feet again now so lots more exciting blog posts to come, look out for; 'Clara' updates, competitions, stories, interesting words, and all sorts of other stuff!
